Hatebreed's lyric video for "A.D."
Many a metalhead and hardcore kid has had to wait 3 years for this, but hardcore legends Hatebreed will release their 7th studio album, The Concrete Confessional, on May 13th 2016 via Nuclear Blast.
From the upcoming album, Hatebreed have treated fans to a lyric video for the track A.D. Having not really paid much attention to the band since The Rise Of Brutality, the track is actually better than I thought it might be.
Lyrically, it's basically the same old thing; "Boo! My country and it's government sucks." Musically, it's a mixture of typical their typical style and Slayer worship, as the first half of the song zips along in thrash-like fashion and then finishes with the iconic Hatebreed fist bump-inducing groove. Put together, it's not the most cringeworthy thing I've ever heard and is not that disappointing, as far as Hatebreed goes.
It's definitely worth checking this out if you have ever liked the band or considered yourself a fan of hardcore and/or metalcore. I'm personally liking the thrash element and hoping there's more of that on the rest of the album.

The new Motorhead song goes hard, as standard.
Almost 40 years on, rock legends Motorhead are about to release their brand new album, Bad Magic, on 28th August. From it comes Electricity, along with a pretty cool lyric video. The song is typical full speed Motorhead, and quite frankly...why would you want anything else? It's a pretty good preview into what's to come.

YET ANOTHER NEW SONG FROM INCUBUS; MAKE OUT PARTY!
Earlier today, American rockers Incubus released another new lyric video for a song entitled Make Out Party. "Make out party??" Incubus realise that their teenage fanbase has all grown up now, right? But seriously, the song itself seems to be, lyrically, an attempt at writing a Prince song. Thing is, before even getting to the lyrics and the poppiness of Brandon Boyd's vocals, you had to double check that you didn't select the wrong video. The tone on here is like nothing I've heard from Incubus before (please correct me if there was ever anything on Light Grenades, Crow Left Of Murder or If Not Now, When? that is this heavy because I haven't heard those albums in full.) It's almost Doom-y in places. It has a slow groove and quite fuzzy guitars. Compared to the other new songs we've already heard from Incubus, this is, personally, a very nice surprise and one of the coolest things I've heard from them in years.
This track comes from the first Ep of two to be released this year, Trust Fall (Side A), which is set for release on 12th May.
For my Israeli readers, don't forget that if you want to see Incubus, they are playing the Raanana Ampitheatre next month, 9th June. For my readers in the UK, you can see them in London at the Apollo on 16th June. For everyone else in Europe and the USA, you can check out tour dates over at Incubus HQ.

YET ANOTHER NEW INCUBUS TUNE
A while ago, I posted a lyric video for the new single from alt. rock giants Incubus called Absolution Calling. Not only have they now released a proper music video for the song, fitted with west side story style choreography, but we have also been treated to another lyric video (possibly the official video, too) for new song Trust Fall. Whereas Absolution Calling has been more of a grower, Trust Fall packs slightly more of an immediate punch.
Instead of an album, the band are set to release 2 EPs, one of which entitled Trust Fall (Side A) which is due for release March 24th.

In other Incubus news, they are of course touring; more importantly, Incubus are scheduled to come to Israel. They will play Ranaana Amphitheatre on June 9th.

NEW INCUBUS SONG
One of the first nu-metal bands I ever got into was Incubus after discovering them through the Family Values '98 compilation CD. New Skin blew me away and then the whole S.C.I.E.N.C.E album was brilliant. Slowly and slowly with time, the Incubus "sound" evolved or "changed" album to album. At least one cannot accuse Incubus as being one of those bands that always sound the same but personally I found it harder to connect to their sound as the years went on. Now, the band are set to release 2 Eps this year and have just now put out a lyric video for new single Absolution Calling. It's certainly not the worst thing I've ever heard and has the possibility of being catchy but it initially doesn't grab me by the balls.

NEW SINGLE AND LYRIC VIDEO FROM CANINE!
It has been a while since I've written anything and I would like to start off with helping spread the new single from Israeli metalcore band Canine. As mentioned in a previous gig review, I have a connection to these guys and support them in their steps to world domination. Last Words Live Forever keeps the Canine vibe that we heard on the Degeneration Ep but with even added blast and thrash elements. New singer (Ben) Saada has absolutely amazing scream vocals. How he doesn't lose his voice every time beats me! The clean vocals are good too. Not too whiney.
From what I can tell (I haven't asked the band themselves) the song seems to be from a soldier's perspective revolving around the saddening incidences where families find out their loved one has died in battle. It is a strong topic and quite important to many living in this country. I must, however, point out that "words" cannot be "dredged in blood". I think they mean drenched. Anyway..
The musicianship and production on this track (recorded, mixed and mastered at Cast Iron Studios) is astounding. The beatdown from around 3:33 to 3:40 is pretty cool and the track ends up going into melodic heaven.
Good job, guys!
